This is my Last Will and Testament
I George Crichton of No. 6 Stanbridge Terrace Stanbridge Road in the parish of
Putney in the County of Surrey a Retired Fleet Engineer late of the Royal Navy do
hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary Dispositions made by me and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I appoint Alfred James Crichton of 27
Cooper Street Monkwearmouth Sunderland and Sarah Petterson Sophia Crichton
residing with me to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will. I direct that all my
just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as convenient
after my decease. I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate unto my
beloved daughter Sarah Petterson Sophia Crichton now residing with me for her
sole use and benefit. In witness whereof I have set my hand to this my will the
sixteenth day of November 1886 ____ George Crichton _____Signed by the above
named George Crichton as his last will in the presence of us both being present at the
same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses ____ William Archer Hyde White 3 Trehern Rd
Mortlake ____ William Bridger 12 St Mary's Villas Richmond.
On the 14th January 1889 Probate of this Will was granted to Sarah Petterson Sophia
Crichton Spinster, one of the Executors.
BE IT KNOWN, that as at the date hereunder written, the last Will and Testament of
George Crichton formerly of No. 6 Stanbridge Terrace Stanbridge Road Putney but
late of No. 374 Clapham Road both in the County of Surrey deceased, who died on the
30th day of December 1888 at No. 374 Clapham Road aforesaid was proved and
registered in the Principal Registry of the Probate Division of Her Majesty's High
Court of Justice, and that Administration of the personal estate of the said deceased
was granted by the aforesaid Court to Sarah Petterson Sophia Crichton of No. 374
Clapham Road aforesaid Spinster the Daughter one of the Executors named in the
said Will she having been the first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same.
Power reserved of making the like grant to Alfred James Crichton the Son the Other
Executor named in the said Will.
