Text | THIS IS MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT. I ANN CRICHTON of 9 Beatrice Street, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland in the County of Durham do hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary Dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I appoint my sons Alfred James Crichton and Charles Albert Crichton of London and Darlington respectively to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will. I direct that all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as convenient after my decease. I bequeath the following legacies. To my Grandson Vincent Crichton of Chapleau Ontario Canada the sum of twenty pounds. To my Grandson Joseph Crichton Forth all the war medals awarded to my deceased son Joseph Michael Smith Crichton. To my son's wife Linda Crichton of Blackheath London the square wicker chair now in my sitting room at 9 Beatrice Street, All the remainder of my property both real and personal to be divided equally amongst such of my surviving sons and daughters namely Alfred James Crichton Annie Crawford Forth Winifred Humphrey and Charles Albert Crichton who shall be living at the time of my decease. In witness whereof I set my hand to this my Will the 13th day of July 1935. ANN CRICHTON. Signed by the above named Ann Crichton as her last Will in the presence of us both being present at the same time who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. I also wish my son Alfred James Crichton to have the remainder of my forks and spoons having his initials and also my mahogany corner cupboard. To my daughter Annie Forth I give my 6 silver teaspoons which formally belonged to my mother and which bear the initials A.C. To my neice Ann Downes I give my pair of gold and pearl earrings. An Affidavit of due execution of Codicil filed. On the 14th December 1938 Probate of the Will with a codicil was granted CARLISLE In His Majesty's High Court of Justice The District Probate Registry at Carlisle BE IT KNOWN that Ann Crichton of 9 Roker Park Road Sunderland in the County of Durham formerly of 9 Beatrice Street Monkwearmouth Sunderland aforesaid Widow died on the 16th day of October 1938 at 189 Shooters Hill Road Blackheath London S.E.3 AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament with one codicil thereto (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed)of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty's Court of Justice at Carlisle and that Administration of all the Estates which by law devolved to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Alfred James Crichton of 189 Shooters Hill Road aforesaid Engineer and Charles Albert Crichton of 21 Eldon Grove West Hartlepool in the County of Durham Superintendent of Oil Company the Sons of Deceased the executors named in the said Will And it is hereby certified that an Affidavit for Inland Revenue has been delivered wherein it is shewn that the gross value of the said estate in Great Britain (exclusive of what the said deceased may have been p?????? of or entitled to as a Trustee and not beneficially) amounts to £ 242 - 0 - 9 and that the said Affidavit bears a stamp of £ 1 - 10 - 0 Dated the 14th day of December 1938 E.J.B.Dixon District Registrar Extracted by Jas.
